Well Med Rx DNA helps clinics imporve patient outcomes.
What does Well Med do at no cost to Clinic/Provider?
WMRx provides a simple electronic method for the clinic/provider which interfaces the clinic/provider to WMRx and the DNA laboratory.
- WMRx electronically queries the data to identify patients receiving multiple drugs and their respective diagnostic categories such as cardiology, pain management, psychiatry and geriatrics.
- The laboratory will provide the DNA test results to identify the optimal dose and or medication for each patient.
- The WMRx system will electronically transmit the DNA laboratory report to the clinic provider.
- Medicare and most major insurers will pay for DNA lab tests and clinic consultation that are medically necessary to diagnose, treat and monitor a patient.
What is Pharmacogenomics?
Pharmacogenomics uses information about a person's genetic makeup, or genome, to choose the drugs and drug doses that are likely to wokr best for that particular person. This new field combines the science of how drugs work, called pharmacology, with the science of the human genome, called genomics.
How does Pharmacogenomics (DNA) Work?
A simple DNA test provides a lifetime of knowledge about a patient's drug sensitivity and rate of drug metabolism; which is cenral to optimizing drug selection and protecting against drug toxicity and reduced efficacy.
